We are in search of an Assistant Payroll Accountant for a 10-episode half-hour scripted comedy series filming in Yonkers. This role will required in-office or a hybrid work schedule in a high-volume, fast-paced production environment.
The ideal candidate would have:
• Prior experience in episodic television payroll processing
• Working knowledge of NY union contracts
• Experience with high-volume weekly payroll processing
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
• Able to prioritize independently and stay ahead of deadlines while collaborating on workflow and organization
• Communicates clearly and professionally with crew and production
The Assistant Payroll Accountant would be responsible for, but not limited to:
• Assisting with weekly processing of crew payroll from onboarding through wrap
• Auditing and reviewing timecards for accuracy, proper coding, and union compliance
• Ensuring all start paperwork is complete and compliant (I-9, W-4, direct deposit, deal memos, union documents)
• Tracking and entering payroll data into EP systems; SmartStart, SmartTime, SmartAccounting
• Communicating with department heads and crew to resolve payroll discrepancies in a timely manner
• Helping maintain organized and audit-ready payroll files
• Assisting with union reporting, fringes, and backup documentation
• Supporting weekly payroll deadlines and helping to ensure smooth submission and approval processes
$2,100 - $2,300 / per week
