Payroll accountant
Job description
We are seeking an experienced Production Film Accountant to manage and execute payroll for a feature film production. The ideal candidate must have direct experience with production payroll, be well-versed in industry union requirements, and proficient in Wrapbook for handling hourly rates, overtime, and SAG-AFTRA payments.
Key Responsibilities:
Process and manage weekly payroll for cast and crew using Wrapbook for at least one week!
Accurately calculate and apply union rates, including overtime, meal penalties, and rest period violations.
Ensure full compliance with SAG-AFTRA agreements, including proper payment and reporting of fees, residuals, and fringes.
Review and verify timesheets, start paperwork, and contracts for accuracy and completeness to input remotely online.
Coordinate with production to address any discrepancies or questions.
Generate payroll reports and summaries as needed.
Requirements:
Minimum 2+ years of experience in film or television production accounting, with a focus on payroll.
Proficient in using Wrapbook to process payroll and manage compliance documentation.
Good understanding of union/guild payroll rules, especially SAG-AFTRA.
Strong attention to detail and confidentiality in handling sensitive financial information.
Ability to work independently and under tight production deadlines.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with DGA, IATSE, and Teamsters payroll (in addition to SAG)
Experience with budgeting software (e.g., Movie Magic, PSL, SmartAccounting)
$40 / per hour
