This is a fast-paced, high-volume production environment looking for a detail-oriented team player with strong union payroll experience and excellent communication skills.
The ideal candidate is proactive, organized, able to work independently, and comfortable managing multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and confidentiality.
Responsibilities Include:
Processing weekly payroll for cast and crew
Reviewing and auditing timecards for accuracy, completeness, and union compliance
Working closely with department heads, production office staff, and payroll company to resolve payroll issues in a timely manner
Maintaining payroll records and supporting documentation
Tracking start paperwork, loan-outs, union status, fringes, deductions, and timecard approvals
Ensuring compliance with union agreements, state labor laws, and studio payroll policies
Handling onboarding paperwork and payroll setups for new hires
Assisting with payroll journal entries, cost tracking, and account reconciliations as needed
Managing weekly deadlines in a high-volume environment
Supporting Production Accountant and accounting team with additional payroll-related tasks and reporting
Qualifications:
Prior experience as a Payroll Accountant on scripted television projects required
Strong working knowledge of entertainment payroll practices and union contracts (IATSE, SAG-AFTRA, Teamsters, DGA, WGA, etc.)
Experience with SmartStart, SmartTime, and Smartaccounting preferred
Strong organizational and communication skills
Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times
Must be highly detail-oriented and able to work efficiently under pressure
$3,500 - $3,800 / per week
