November brought exciting product updates for production companies managing many projects in flight.

Updates at a glance

  • A better project dashboard
  • Freelance project coordinator support
  • Native and automated support for Coogan Accounts
  • Mobile friendly timecards

A Better Project Dashboard

The project dashboard has been updated to list out all projects that are currently on your slate and that your company is actively working on.

Additionally, all active projects now list pending action notifications in need of approval. This allows you to stay focussed on your work and address items that require your most immediate attention.

Coogan Account Payment Splitting

Wrapbook now natively supports payments to Coogan accounts!

Coogan accounts are special trust accounts, created commonly for a child actor, where 15% of gross earnings are deposited to be held for them, until they become an adult. They are required by law for all child actors working in New York, California, Louisiana and New Mexico, per the rules of The Coogan Law.

On Wrapbook, when onboarding, minors will now be prompted to enter in their Coogan account information. When running payroll for Coogan states - 15% of gross earnings will automatically be deposited into their Coogan account for them with the remaining wages sent to their principal form of payment (check or direct deposit bank account).

As always, companies can also fill in this information for their child workers if it is supplied for them as well.

Freelance project coordinator support

You can now grant a freelance project coordinator access to manage a single project in Wrapbook for your company.

Coordinators have access to only projects that admins grant them to. With this access, coordinators can onboard users, fill in tax information, approve I-9s and prep a payroll so that it is ready to run.

To add a coordinator, just go to the project settings -> production coordinators and click add production coordinator.

Project coordinators are only permitted to manage the projects that you explicitly allow them to access.
