The next standard in production payroll and accounting is here.

Get Started

We’re excited to welcome Kerry LaiFatt, former GreenSlate and Brunico executive, who has joined Wrapbook as our new VP, Sales Film and Television.

About Kerry

Having built her career across multiple corners of the industry, Kerry has worked closely with studios, producers, and crews to navigate the complex world of production finance. Her extensive background gives her a unique perspective on where entertainment is heading and how Wrapbook can continue as the next standard for modern production accounting and payroll.

In this conversation, Kerry shares insights from her career journey, her vision for the future, and the opportunities she sees for producers and finance professionals alike.

Q: Can you share a bit about your professional background and what drew you into the world of production payroll and accounting?

KLF: It's been an incredibly unique journey to this point. If we go way back, I spent years in front of the camera on Canadian television sets, appearing in nearly 90 episodes of a series. That experience gave me my first real glimpse of what was happening behind the scenes in production. For a short time, I also worked onboard cruise ships, producing my own live shopping shows and managing a TV station on the ship.

A few years later, I joined Realscreen Magazine, where I gained insight into the industry on an international scale. I spent my time listening to challenges producers faced and was building relationships with studios. Realscreen also produces conferences in the U.S., and it was at these events that I first connected with the GreenSlate team.

What began as a client relationship soon turned into an exciting opportunity. They approached me and said, "Kerry, come sell for us—we’ll teach you everything you need to know." Ready to take a leap, I embraced the challenge and went on to spend eight incredible years with the company.

During that time, I fell in love with the industry all over again.  Instead of observing from a distance, I was working closely with production accountants and heads of production, learning firsthand what they truly needed. This shift allowed me to move from simply listening to actively helping—supporting teams with technology that made a real difference in their work.

That’s what really drew me to Wrapbook—to see how cutting edge and ahead of the curve Wrapbook is.

Q: What else inspired your move from GreenSlate to Wrapbook?

KLF: We are set up for innovation at Wrapbook, and that is so unique in this space. I’ve spent years talking about payroll and production accounting solutions that are stuck in the stone ages. GreenSlate was next in line as that bridge toward technology, but Wrapbook is taking it another step further with tools that other companies are not even considering, like AI. These tools are what I believe will push us leaps and bounds ahead of the others really fast, and I am excited to be here for that.

Q: What other challenges are you hearing about in the industry, and which ones are you most excited to help solve?

KLF: I was noticing some gaps in the industry especially in the non-union or unscripted space. There was no true option for self-service and very little automation. Producers in this space want to be able to set up a project quickly and move forward without waiting on someone else to configure custom workflows, for example. With Wrapbook, those workflows are already built into the system. Instead of being handed something overwhelming and wondering, "Where do I start?," Wrapbook makes the process simple and intuitive.

The pandemic also reshaped the industry. Many experienced professionals left, which meant others were suddenly pushed into roles they weren’t fully prepared for. As a result, some leaned heavily on payroll companies to guide them. Wrapbook is addressing this shift by leaning into AI tools that don’t just provide answers but also educate along the way. When used thoughtfully, AI can both support and empower teams to become more self-sufficient.

A new, younger, generation is stepping into more senior roles. They tend to be more open to adopting new technology—which positions the industry to embrace smarter, faster, and more modern ways of working.

Q: How do you see Wrapbook shaping the future of production accounting and payroll?

KLF: Wrapbook is identifying where the industry is moving as opposed to servicing where the industry already is… Wrapbook is an all-in-one system. Everything was built on one database. Other companies are still having to maintain legacy systems.  There’s nothing holding us back at Wrapbook. We can move with the times—where the industry is going—and say, “Let’s build for that.”

Wrapbook is moving at the speed of light with technology—new features are rolling out weekly. Watching Wrapbook take over the commercial industry in a blink of an eye, and now moving into film and television… I’m thrilled to be a part of the team to help drive that growth.

Q: What’s the best way for readers to connect with you?

KLF: You can find me on LinkedIn.
