The next standard in production payroll and accounting is here.

Get Started

Today, we’re proud to share that Wrapbook has acquired Cinapse, the industry’s leading modern scheduling platform. We’re thrilled to welcome Herman Phillips (Director & GM of Scheduling) and François Van der Merwe (Sr. Engineer) to Wrapbook.

For as long as there have been productions, there’s been a gap between the creative decisions made in scheduling and the financial realities managed in production accounting.

At Wrapbook, we’ve spent years building technology that brings clarity and connection to the financial side of filmmaking. We’ve been focused on building the connected back office for production, unifying payroll, vendor management, and production accounting into one system. Over time, that vision grew into something larger.

Hear directly from Wrapbook’s Co-founder and CEO, Ali Javid & Co-founder and CEO of Cinapse, Herman Phillips:

Why Cinapse?

Productions don’t just need better tools. They need a true operating system for entertainment—a single platform where scheduling, budgeting, payroll, and accounting operate in real time, sharing the same data, the same source of truth, and the same understanding of the plan.

The one critical piece of that operating system that remained disconnected was the front end of production: scheduling.

Every budget, every approval, every payment, every overage or underage—everything we track—ultimately traces back to the schedule. It sets the day count, staffing plan, locations, overtime risk, vendor timelines, and the financial scope of the entire project.

Yet scheduling has largely existed in a silo. Productions have been asked to bridge that divide manually, with tools that weren’t built for today’s multi-unit, multi-location shoot environment.

Cinapse changed that. Their team built a platform that ADs actually like using—one that’s collaborative, cloud-based, fast, and purpose-built for the complexity of modern production. As they quietly became the go-to scheduling tool for premium shows like Euphoria, The Boys, Shrinking, Outer Banks, and High Potential, we saw something familiar: a team solving a painful, foundational production problem in a modern way.

“Cinapse is the best scheduling platform on the market. This acquisition isn’t about expanding for expansion’s sake—it’s about aligning two mission-critical workflows. Together, we’re redefining how productions plan and track every dollar of their creative process.” ~ Ali Javid, CEO and Co-Founder of Wrapbook

Bringing Cinapse into Wrapbook aligns two workflows that shouldn’t be separate to begin with. It moves production closer to the single system filmmakers have always needed—but could never get.

Instead of reconciling schedules and budgets at the end of the day, productions will be able to see the implications of decisions as they happen. That connection unlocks better planning, cleaner approvals, fewer surprises, and clearer communication between production and finance. It’s what every production has been trying to piece together for years.

“Cinapse and Wrapbook share a vision for how modern productions should operate as fully connected, collaborative and efficient. Together, we’re building what every filmmaker and studio has wanted for decades: one seamless system that connects scheduling, budgeting, and payroll from prep to wrap.” ~ Herman Phillips, Co-Founder and CEO of Cinapse

What’s next

Cinapse will continue to operate independently under the Wrapbook umbrella as we build toward deeper integration. For customers of Cinapse and customers of Wrapbook, please reach out to us if you have any questions on what it means for you and your team.

Wrapping up

Our goal is simple: a single system that carries a production from the first strip on the schedule to the final cost report.

The industry has been asking for this for decades. Today, we take the first real step toward it.

There’s much more to come—and we can’t wait to share it. Read the full announcement here.
